What is a domed monolith

The dome consists of a pneumatic formwork which is inflated. Then, the already inflated form is treated with polyurethane foam, the layer of which must be at least 8 centimeters. After that, a metal frame is assembled, which is mounted using mounting elements embedded in the foam. Finally, from the outside of the dome, a layer of shotcrete is applied. The result is a very durable monolith, which remains only externally put in order. Such a dome can withstand even strong earthquakes — up to 8 points, as well as wind force, up to 200 kilometers per hour, you can say a tornado. That is why, this technology is often used to build shelters.
