What is an elevator?

In a two- or three-storey cottage, which is made according to the latest technology, it is possible to install an elevator specially adapted for personal home use. The elevator creates more convenience for moving from floor to floor, especially if the elderly or in poor health live in the house.

There are three main types of elevators, which are distinguished by the type of drive and the device of the lifting mechanism: electric, hydraulic and pneumatic.

The hydraulic elevator is known more than others, because its main advantage is the complete absence of technical noise. Provided that the engine room is located outside your home, the hydraulic lift will be absolutely silent. The elevator descends and rises together with the metal rod to which it is attached; in case the lifting mechanism breaks, the elevator slowly goes down and stops.

On the contrary, an electric elevator will have an increased level of technical noise. In addition, it will depend on the supply of current, and therefore, in the event of a power outage, it may stop between floors. However, it also has an undoubted advantage over other types of elevators — its speed.

Simple elevators must be installed during the construction process: in order to place the elevator shaft, it is necessary to plan the place at the foundation stage. In addition to ensuring the safety of both the home and passengers, the walls and ceilings that come into contact with the elevator are reinforced more. In the event that construction has already been completed, it is not always possible to build in an elevator. As you know, a pneumatic elevator does not need any alterations in the structure, the only exception will be a hole in the ceilings between floors. This device can be installed in any room: it does not take up much space and does not need significant architectural improvements. This is not forex for beginners.

There is another possibility to put an elevator in an already completed house. It is necessary to make a panoramic elevator in the house (or rather, on it). In addition to the actual functionality, such an elevator will be an amazing architectural detail that will help the house become recognizable.
