perforated steel

Perforated steel has long been used in arts and crafts. It was used to decorate lamps, glass holders and other household utensils, as well as weathercocks, chimney caps (chimney caps), drainpipe tops, and signboards. With all this, punched steel is often connected with bent wire parts, and also with forged metal, which usually repeats the look of frames, brackets, etc.

This picture of artistic metal processing was widespread almost throughout Russia, for example, in the Central regions, to a lesser extent, for example, in the North, this steel was called — sheet roofing steel — and was widely used in both urban and rural individual construction. For example, in Vladimir, in the decor of stone buildings of past centuries, majestic perforated metal ornaments were often found. So, along the entire perimeter of the great Assumption Cathedral, gilded steel ribbons on the houses and buildings of the Assumption Province stretched with a bizarre ornament. Of the latest examples of the cut pattern, it is possible to name the famous wonderful Krutitsky Teremok in Moscow and the majestic Vodovzvodnaya Tower in Kolomenskoye.
