Chemical protection of wood
There are chemicals that reduce the likelihood of wood burning. These are the so-called flame retardants, which are the retarders of the combustion process. Such substances contain the fire and do not allow it to spread.
In order for the flame retardant to be effective enough, it is necessary to properly impregnate the wood from which the house is built with this composition. Another option for protecting a wooden house is painting with a special compound containing a fire retardant.
All flame retardants are divided into three groups depending on the effectiveness of their action. The most effective fire retardants are the first group, which protect the tree at any stage of ignition.
In addition, you need to know that the treatment of wood with a fire retardant must be repeated every two to three years — after all, over time and under the influence of precipitation, the fire retardant loses its protective properties.
